Suggestions about restoring Yankee stadium seats

Hi everyone!  I’ve inherited a pair of Yankee Stadium seats from when it was renovated in the mid 70s. I’d like to restore or refurbish them. Any suggestions as to where to start would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cool inheritance. Tough decision here with the nostalgia and they're from the "house that Babe built." I'd almost be inclined to clear coat them as is to preserve the look and history. I've only been to Yankee Stadium one time; late May, 1971...shoot, you may have the seat I sat in. ;=)

What is the original color?  I'm amazed what great shape they are in.  I agree with Dave.  Might just leave them as is.

I assume it’s the light green as blue was painted over it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would say that it sort of depends on what you want to do with them.  If you are merely going to repaint, I'd remove any of the loose paint by scraping and/or sanding.   If you wan to get back to natural wood finish, I'd recommend a stripper, removing the slats if possible.  In either case, check for lead-based paint.
