July 7, 20251 yr Popular Post Got over 500 brick moved. Moved the oak beams I had cut, plus cedar logs. Set up two benches. Still have to smooth out the tops. Today move the concrete scraps to holes in the creek. Move just a little dirt and pull nails from the scrap lumber from house.
July 7, 20251 yr Popular Post Monday, WHO allowed that? Loaded the skid steer trailer this morning with a load of Maple from (I hope) the last tree WE Energies will be removing for their power line upgrade. Had to move it from Bruce's place next door. Got all but two pieces on the trailer. Was going to mow but, ... I'm pooped.
July 8, 20251 yr Popular Post Actually, I got nothing done over the weekend. Spent the holiday weekend in OCMD. Now I need to get one of these made in the next week- Did this much before we left- Another one of those "emergency" projects
July 8, 20251 yr Late reporting in. Finally after getting all the mowing done Saturday, a nasty thunderstorm rolled in late Sunday afternoon leaving behind plenty of sticks to harvest, sweet corn and green beans flat, .75" of rain SO, grass needs mowing again. I did get the auction treasures unloaded from my car; still need to sort, clean, organize and stash. Monday morning I was awaken by "beep, beep, beeping", clank, clank, clanking, diesel engines idling, men yelling...seems they decided to chip and seal our road at 6A. Apparently the oil/tar truck ran empty dead center of our drive thus leaving the gravel spreader connected to a dump truck with additional trucks queued behind idle until the next tar tank arrived. The Mrs., already cranky because it was Monday and the rude awakening, had to wait about a half-hour hour past her normal leave time before she could leave...that and she had to go the opposite direction driving on the freshly laid surface...bad start to the day. Later, I spent about an hour shoveling the piles of loose gravel then relocating to all the places where the transition left multiple places of pooled tar without gravel. Business meetings tonight and tomorrow night at church; plenty of outside and yard work to resume between predicted thunderstorms; continue to work on my PhD's. Keep trying to get current on the posts here. Edited July 8, 20251 yr by Grandpadave52
