Popular Post Wichman3 Posted June 5 Popular Post Report Posted June 5 I'm back. Looks like the scroll saw forum is still a little slow. Lets liven it up a bit. A recent project. This took several months to complete. I had to take several breaks to contemplate how to solve various issues. This is a fishing rod rack for my son in law. Original pattern from the the book "Artistic Scroll Saw Patterns & Projects" by Patrick Spielman. Wood; 1/4" Elm for most of the top pieces, 5/6" Elm for the bottom plate and 1 1/2" Elm for the base. Lazy Susan bearing between the base and bottom plate. I soaked the base in BLO for several days ( in an extra large Ziplock bag ) for weight to stabilize the rack when loaded with rods. Top rod latches were taken from the end of the dragons tails. Mortice and tenon in the dragon head to table top, dragons wings and tails to center brace dragons claws to base plate. This is by far the most complex scroll saw project I have ever done... worth every bit of trouble I had with it. Very well received by the son in law.
