Thanks for the advice... it was something that hadn't occurred to me. Luckily, my attic is climate controlled, except for room where the air conditioner is. Temperatures vary from 60-80 ℉ year round without too much humidity.

Boxes are complete. It took me awhile to make sure that the lids fitted with a "good" friction fit. I expected that my coats of poly would add some thickness to the lids and grooves. Everything was cleaned out/adjusted for that smooth , sliding fit.

I have been thinking on a similar line about building my own casket at some point. At the moment I have no place to store it for hopefully the next few decades. But it is with the same general idea; if anything happened to me that would be one expense my family would not incur.
