Pauley Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 (edited) I was asked if I could make one of these. I think I can, but I can not figure out what is used for the hinge so the mouth can open and hold some business cards. anyone have an idea? Or should I scrap this idea…(squeeze the back part of the head to open its mouth for the business cards.) Edited March 11 by Pauley Add more info. Grandpadave52 and lew 2 Quote
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted March 11 Popular Post Report Posted March 11 Wont that have soem kind of spring in it to hold the card firmly? Like a clothes pin, but that (I don't think) would work for this. Gerald, lew, HandyDan and 2 others 5 Quote

Popular Post kmealy Posted March 11 Popular Post Report Posted March 11 A binder clip with the handles removed, any maybe cut down. There's also something called a "U-type clip" of a number of types. Inset either into the head and screw and/or epoxy into place. Some of those are used for auto body repairs. HandyDan, lew, Grandpadave52 and 2 others 5 Quote
lew Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Cloths pin was my first thought, too! The articulated neck has me scratching my head unless there is an opening in the back that we can't see. Fred W. Hargis Jr, DuckSoup, Grandpadave52 and 1 other 4 Quote
Pauley Posted March 11 Author Report Posted March 11 The binder clip I think would work. I just googled micro binder clip and Walmart has them. I think I’ll give them a try. thanks guys. Lew, I also thought about the spring of a clothes pin, but I thought it may be to big. Grandpadave52, HandyDan, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 1 other 4 Quote

4DThinker Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 There has to be some spring tension to keep a business card in place. A ball joint alone won't be enough. Think of an old wood clothes pin. Used back when clothes were hung up on a clothes line to dry. 4D Grandpadave52, DuckSoup and lew 3 Quote
Gerald Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Spring has to have a pivot point . Maybe a screw from the bottom. DuckSoup, Grandpadave52 and lew 3 Quote
