Business card holder

Featured Replies

I was asked if I could make one of these.  I think I can, but I can not figure out what is used for the hinge so the mouth can open and hold some business cards.

anyone have an idea?  Or should I scrap this idea…(squeeze the back part of the head to open its mouth for the business cards.)

Wont that have soem kind of spring in it to hold the card firmly? Like a clothes pin, but that (I don't think) would work for this.

I was thinking on the same lines, but I think it would have to be pretty small.

A binder clip with the handles removed, any maybe cut down.  There's also something called a "U-type clip" of a number of types.  Inset either into the head and screw and/or epoxy into place.  Some of those are used for auto body repairs.

Cloths pin was my first thought, too!

The articulated neck has me scratching my head unless there is an opening in the back that we can't see.

The binder clip I think would work. I just googled micro binder clip and Walmart has them.  I think I’ll give them a try.

thanks guys.

Lew, I also thought about the spring of a clothes pin, but I thought it may be to big.

Thanks everyone.  I think I’m going to try the mini binder clip. I’ll let you all know once I finish it.

The one I found at Walmart’s web site was about a 1/2 inch wide.  Thank you,

The head looks like it is mounted on a ball & socket and tilts.

That's what I see, too. There must be an opening somewhere to allow access to install the ball into the socket.

The body of the bird may have been carefully cut in half and reglued....or something else.

There has to be some spring tension to keep a business card in place.  A ball joint alone won't be enough.

Think of an old wood clothes pin.  Used back when clothes were hung up on a clothes line to dry.

Spring has to have a pivot point . Maybe a screw from the bottom.
