March 11, 20251 yr I was asked if I could make one of these. I think I can, but I can not figure out what is used for the hinge so the mouth can open and hold some business cards. anyone have an idea? Or should I scrap this idea…(squeeze the back part of the head to open its mouth for the business cards.) Edited March 11, 20251 yr by Pauley Add more info.
March 11, 20251 yr Popular Post Wont that have soem kind of spring in it to hold the card firmly? Like a clothes pin, but that (I don't think) would work for this.

March 11, 20251 yr Popular Post A binder clip with the handles removed, any maybe cut down. There's also something called a "U-type clip" of a number of types. Inset either into the head and screw and/or epoxy into place. Some of those are used for auto body repairs.
March 11, 20251 yr Cloths pin was my first thought, too! The articulated neck has me scratching my head unless there is an opening in the back that we can't see.
March 11, 20251 yr Author The binder clip I think would work. I just googled micro binder clip and Walmart has them. I think I’ll give them a try. thanks guys. Lew, I also thought about the spring of a clothes pin, but I thought it may be to big.

March 12, 20251 yr Author Thanks everyone. I think I’m going to try the mini binder clip. I’ll let you all know once I finish it.
March 12, 20251 yr Popular Post Yep. This popped into my mind when reading this thread. In person this one is 9/16" wide. 4D
March 12, 20251 yr Author Popular Post The one I found at Walmart’s web site was about a 1/2 inch wide. Thank you,

March 13, 20251 yr The body of the bird may have been carefully cut in half and reglued....or something else.
March 13, 20251 yr There has to be some spring tension to keep a business card in place. A ball joint alone won't be enough. Think of an old wood clothes pin. Used back when clothes were hung up on a clothes line to dry. 4D
