Here lately when I go back to a long thread the location has jumped a ways back up the thread. It does not seem to want to go back to where I left off. Has anyone else had this?

It happens to me about half the time. No rhyme or reason that I can tell.

I just scroll down til I see the green line and start reading from there.

Haven't had the problem here.

Moved topic to Bugs and Issues. And, let me read into what you are saying Gerald and see if I can figure this out for ya.

Ok, actually I have seen that, I thought I was going crazy, let me check into this, it wasn't like that before, thanks for the report Gerald.

Happening to me too. Used to pick up where I left off when returning to a topic but now it mostly returns to several comments earlier

Have you guys tried checking your Content View Settings? Just for kicks and giggles, set it to where you want it.

Then click on "Save".

Perhaps that'll freshen things up?

Mine is also, has been for quite a while. It doesn't seem to make any difference.

I've had that happen randomly over the past couple of days. Thought I was imagining it or it was falling through the trap doors.;)

It be back!

Does this to me every time.

I didn't really worry about it since odd behavior of websites on my browser is kind of the norm.  I've been running linux systems for 20+ years now, and I'm currently using a browser called Brave (a chrome clone).  I chalked it up to the kind of weirdness I expect in a world written for Windows.

:ChinScratch: Have to think we'll be seeing a bit more adaptation to Linux systems in the next few months as a lot of the W10 machines that don't meet MS's hardware requirements for upgrading to W11.  I hadn't played around with any Linux systems for at least 15 years and am rather pleased with the progress they've made. Been playing around with Zorin OS for a couple of months now on a dual boot system. Think I'll call a pass on W12 or whatever they decide to call it. ;)

I'm not familiar with Zorin, looks to be an Ubuntu clone.  Maybe 10 years ago, the linux world had a bit of a split.  Most distros went the way of mainstream OS's in changing the process that was the traffic cop for the system.  In that regard they made it more like Windows.

A few distros doggedly stuck with the traditional linux architecture design - and guess which camp I fall into :D

PCLOS is the one I use.  I occasionally try a new one, but I always go back to the one I like and have used since around 2006.

The area where I think linux made the most progress in being more broadly accepted and used is in package management.  Having GUI based manager tools really made it more approachable for the average user.

And the availability of compatible drives for hardware.

Very true.  Gone are the days when a lot of the users would simply write their own.  I still know one guy who can do that, assuming he can get the hardware specs :D

Zorin is basically a stripped-down version of Ubuntu with a more Windows type GUI. I'd rather add the programs that I'll use than taking a full featured package.

I basically do the same with my Windows installs by doing a basic install then adding what I want but MS seems to be making that harder to do.

I had last played around with early versions of Fedora which used the more traditional Linux architecture.

That's where I ran into difficulties when playing around with the early versions of Fedora a bit too much :WonderScratch: :PullingHair: :BangingHead: to make it enjoyable.

Here's a link to a basic description of Zorin.
