February 7, 20251 yr Popular Post There are times I use a sanding block and there are times I need to hand sand because of the curves on the object I am sanding. Recently when I was helping my daughter refinish a piece of furniture I felt I needed something in between and came up with this idea. I took a 4"x4"x1/2" piece of packing foam, laid down 4 pieces of double sided tape on the foam then pressed that onto a 4"x4" piece of sand paper. Not as abrupt as a sanding block, not as flexible as hand sanding.....in between. I use it now all the time on sharp wood edges and moderate curves.
February 9, 20251 yr Popular Post Bubba I also have found a person that spends lots of time around woodworking has to have an open mind when trying to solve problems. I might only use a spur of the moment helper that was quickly fashioned but nothing never gets thrown away if it helped solved the problem at that time. I find a place hang those helpers for another time. Some times things were never used much after I watched an add telling me how good it was. This box has been in my shop forever and maybe for the reason it said on the box that they are good getting white walls clean ?. Well duh! So you can tell how long they have been taking up space.
