Popular Post lew Posted February 3 Popular Post Report Posted February 3 Was really lazy over the weekend. Packed up some boxes for Mimi to get mailed. No real plans for the week ahead- at least I haven't been told-- yet. John Morris, Gerald, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted February 3 Popular Post Report Posted February 3 Out real early for me today. Took Mrs. to work so I could have her Jeep to change headlight bulbs. On to the hospital for some blood/ lab work, then to O'Reilly's for headlight bulbs, a few other errands, then home. Rest of the week, couple evening meetings at church, haircut, a few errands while in the big city. Probably some other things; hate to make too many plans I'll never accomplish. Over the weekend, got the pocket knife sharpened. Enjoyable time and meal after church celebrating Pastors 60th birthday. Suggested to the Mrs. rather than replacing the headlight bulbs on her car, she start getting home before dark. Once the swelling goes down, I'll change those bulbs. Gerald, Fred W. John Morris Posted February 3 Author Report Posted February 3 Got the side of our house all cleaned up over the weekend, demoed a storage shed and getting a replacement. Replaced some fencing. Back to work today. Last night did our taxes , Fed didn't change from last year, owe about 1500 bucks, we knew it was coming so we put a little away each month for it, but we went from a 64 dollar state refund last year, to a 2400 dollar bill with the State of California! Nothing changed from last year either! OUCH! Gerald, Al B, lew and 5 others 4 4 Quote
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted February 3 Popular Post Report Posted February 3 If you owed that much in Ohio, they would have you do the penalty worksheet which is about as screwy as you can imagine....from the minds of our finest. I missed having to go through this year by about $2. We have to do 2, one for the state income and then a separate one for the school district income tax (almost every school has one). I shorted the school tax and had to pay $80. I'm in the shop today making a frame for a painting we were given at Christmas. After that about 3 other flatwork projects are waiting. steven newman, Al B, lew and 3 others 6 Quote

You really need to ask Years ago, when I had a Scuba business, I was required to pay estimated income tax to the fed and state. After I sold everything, it was just easier to have zero taxes deducted from any sources and just pay quarterly. Usually break even. John Morris, Larry Buskirk, steven newman and 4 others 2 5 Quote
