You all get anything done over the past weekend?

Thanks for getting the topic off the ground Steve! I got confused again this morning, sitting on the sofa watching news like it's Sunday morning, I got the whole Christmas week off from work, so my biological time clock is off again.

Forgot it was Monday :)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend wrapping up those last minute shop made gifts and settling in for the big day. Merry Christmas!

You think it's off now, wait till after you retire.

My daughters and their families were all here over the weekend to celebrate the holiday. Plenty of food & treats to snack on all weekend & enough snow to make it feel like Christmas. Seems like the holidays come & go faster each year but it was great having the house full again. Patti & I will celebrate Christmas day at the youngest daughter's house, who is still in town.

Tree service here again today. Working on one Maple, and then the Oak.

Not sure if they can get to the other Maple with the lift truck.

Nothing over the weekend. Youngest daughter and her family visited Saturday, first time they've been to this house....was a nice visit. Sunday Marie was bagging here Christmas stuff up (she bags instead of wraps) so I was helping here with that. Just got back from the hospital where she had some tests done, she'll be baking this afternoon so I'll helping with that.  One thing that happened this morning was a rather spectacular sunrise as I drove home from the Y. It's the red sky in morning-take warning thing I guess.

My daughter has this thing for little red pickups. She has them all over the house, ornaments on the tree, door mat at the front door etc.

My granddaughter came up with the idea of making another little red truck for her mom for Christmas, like she needs another one.

So grandpaw cut the truck out of thin plywood, cut out fenders and running board and glued them on to give it somewhat of a 3D look,

gave it a plexiglass windshield, PVC headlight and the tail light was cut from a red push pen.

That's my daughter driving.

I cut it out and assembled it and my 9 year old granddaughter did all the painting.

This was a fun project to say the least.

What's the hurry. You still have tomorrow until 5P.

Mostly sat on my rear over the weekend. That head cold nobody would confess to sending me got me down. Even attended church via livestream. Figured no one would want that in the offering plate.

Portable heart monitor came off today at 10A. Glad that two weeks is over. Very annoying.

Feeling much better today, so I called up all the strength and courage I could muster and ventured out to the Emerald City to start and wrap-up my Christmas shopping. Traffic was insane but stores weren't bad at all. I think I counted a total of 12 out/ins of the car. That was the toughest part of the day. Although the last out/in was the best. A 8 pack (now 6 pack, yes, donuts) magically found its way into my car. Hohoho, Merry Christmas...to me!

Actually, I did just that. Too many people in the stores and on the road today.

Candlelight service at church last night and I get the used candles every year. These will last a long time in my skillet for sealing logs.

Built a bench to rest the tractor bucket on so it will be over the brush hog in lean too so all of tractor will be under cover. Take this down to the Ranch tomorrow ...maybe. Just the three of us for Christmas day and the rest on the way the 2nd. Supposed to rain for 2-3 days beginning Christmas.

A story here. Roku has a new feature to put photos on . They display as a screen saver. One was me in the shop with the grandson. She says at one time the shop was pretty. Yeah but I was working for a living then and not much shop time so did not have time to mess it up. Also lots of water under the bridge since then.

Made donuts for my girlfriend today.  Got the temperature just right, and made sure to blot them dry as soon as they were out of the oil.  Turned out really well, nice and crispy outside, minimal oil soaking in.

I guess my granddaughter and I did a good job on this gift cause it brought my daughter to tears when she saw it.

Those ears were your gift. I had that happen once when I gave our daughter something I had made; the warmest feeling I've ever had.
