October 8, 20241 yr Anyone using the "old" Pro Edge sharpening system? 2 questions. On the finger nail profile jig are 2 set of #s On the knuckle one set of numbers goes from 0-6 On the arm of the jig there is a set of numbers that goes from 1-3 I queried Robert Sorby customer service are they said that I had an old system and that the new system did not have the numbers. They refereed me to 2 YouTube videos that did not explain the functions of the numbers, but one video was helpful in another way.. Upon further investigation on the tube one video said not to alter the setting but did not explain their use or function. Anyone have an old system with an instruction book that explains the numbers? Or do you know what the numbers are for? Thks smitty
October 8, 20241 yr Not sure of the model number but- Does this help? https://verktoyas.no/Files/Files/Brukermanualer/Slipemaskiner/Robert Sorby ProEdge.pdf About half way down the page- https://robert-sorby.freeforums.net/thread/65/settings-fingernail-grinding-jig
October 9, 20241 yr I would bet the numbers are there for reference to get you back to the setting you found to be best for you. The wolverine system has different and they aren't numbered either. I have a Sorby jig only not the whole system. I found the sweet spot for me on my system and haven't moved it since.
October 9, 20241 yr Author @Lew Thanks!!!! The Sorby free forum seems to have the answers I've been looking for. Will have to experiment with the settings but it's good to know which setting affects what before I start. Again THANKS. Why Sorby is reluctant to publish the details is strange.!?!?! smitty
