Ya know, I've never been one to criticize a fellow woodworker his/her worth, I've always said more power to em if they can get it! Go for it!

 

Well, his price is firm, he lives in LA, and it is a really nice piece of wood. There's probably some chance he'll sell it. But the only face i see is a demon with wings. Eye of the beholder thing, I guess.

Considering the price of Claro and, the dimensions of the piece, the asking price may not be too far out of line. Too rich for me, though.

And being it's in L.A., where an ink dot on canvas is art, he will sell it!

buy for 60, sell for 1,000....wash, rinse, repeat.

It's probably sold already. And it makes more sense than that fancy firewood in the upper-ridiculous price range.

a few months ago i made some maple tables for our church.  i saved aside a few handfuls of the sawdust, put it in a tupperware container, and presented it to the pastor, telling him it wasn't just sawdust, oh no.....it was "made in Santa Fe" artisanal sawdust......he laughed, and then noted that there were some folks in town that would pay premium $$$ for such an idea.  me?  goes in the trash.

Not new here. I've been making high dollar fire wood for years.
