Popular Post 4DThinker Posted May 28, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 28, 2024 Looking Good John! Looks so real you should put a sheet of plex over the front and fill with water. 4D honesttjohn, kmealy, HARO50 and 3 others 1 5 Quote
Popular Post kmealy Posted May 28, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 28, 2024 A couple of years ago at the 4-H state fair woodworking, we had an entry. It was an end table with a glass top. Inside he had carved and painted a rainbow trout, and hundreds of stones that were painted. It was truly amazing. 4DThinker, Artie, HARO50 and 3 others 6 Quote

John Morris Posted June 1, 2024 Report Posted June 1, 2024 That's a pretty piece of Ash, John. Looks like your artistic flare is really showing through on this! Tagging on to Mealy's post above, you know your carvings sure would be wonderful table tops! Grandpadave52, honesttjohn and Cal 2 1 Quote
Popular Post honesttjohn Posted June 1, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted June 1, 2024 "you know your carvings sure would be wonderful table tops!" That's a whole different area, John. You could either fill with epoxy or take the easy way out and put a tempered glasss sheet on top of the carving. But, the piece has to be leveled and either a stand, legs, or frame created. Hard to justify the price needed when doing all that. But that being said ........... there have been some really cool ones made by others more advanced than me.
