Even spacing

I found a gadget that makes sectioning a quick and easy breeze. Some of you guys may already know about it but I just discovered it so excuse my enthusiasm. Lol It's called a sewing gauge. I saw a friend's mom using it the other day and it hit me like a ton of bricks. She was using it to space out buttons on a shirt and I thought wow, that would work great in woodworking for spacing out a piece of wood.

I really like Amazon:  you can convert "inexpensive" into "so cheap it makes your socks itch".  This kind of pricing says two things to me:

--why not buy it?  I spend more on gas going to the Big Box store, only to find they don't stock what they claim anyway, and

--really low pricing at Amazon is (my belief) based on "factory seconds":  at the end of the day, the factory manager realizes a machine is out of calibration, so they sweep up the day's production, stick it in a big box, and sell it by the pound out the back door.  As a consumer, it's on me to be the QC manager for the process.  I return a lot of things for replacements until I get one that works (my personal best:  returned a product 11 times before they got it right).  Fortunately, Amazon usually doesn't even require you repackage the product:  I just dump it back to them at the UPS store next to my favorite grocery store.

Interesting that for this "sewing gauge" they have a photo of woodworking... I wonder if the Amazon computers discern where you have linked from and change the pictures accordingly...

I would think that would be a pretty good find the middle tool using 3 of the prongs.

I've seen Izzy Swan on YouTube use that alot in his woodworking. Pretty neat.
