Has anyone tried one of these cutters? If so what are your thoughts? I am thinking about one to use to dress up some listed boxes. Thanks

They should work as well as the other cutters.  A straight cutter can be used with a negative rake by raising the the rear of the tool.  Negative rake cutters are comfortable to use since they can be used with the tool in a more level position.

Thanks Dan, I was looking at the ones Easy Tools make.

I have used them (helped testing them during development) and have all 4 sizes. They work great! You will get the best results holding the tool level and turning at the highest possible speed. Hard wood, close grain species provide the best results.

Scrapers in general seem to be seeing more use than before.  Robo Hippie is a big proponent and I've noticed Richard Raffin using them quite a bit too.

I'm amazed at the finish he gets from his scraper work!

Thanks guys, I have been using carriers for several years and I have been getting good finishes from them. You can use them at different angles and get good results.
