March 5, 20242 yr Popular Post I got to take Feb off as far as the shop goes but now back at it. Before starting back on the doors I have a few items to make for friends. This is the first one and it’s also a strange one. It’s a wooden cover for an electric stove top. I know. It’s nuts. It is for a long time friend and the husband is a contractor. I am having them sign a release just in case the house burns down. It is a flat cooktop with digital controls and has the ability to use a lock out with a password and there is no one else in the home. It’s on an island and she needs more serving area when they entertain. I have refused to make it for quite a while but my boss has joined in to coerce me into doing it. In their defense they have a full range in the kitchen and this is on the island and I don’t think they ever use it. I used black walnut and maple with that new ceramic finish. March 5, 20242 yr Good to have you back Paul. Beautiful work as always. Sure would be a shame for it to go up in smoke.
March 5, 20242 yr needs more serving area.....when you build your kitchen, don't skimp on counter top area.
March 6, 20242 yr Author I agree Dab. This kitchen is huge by most standards and the cooktop as an extra cooking surface is a bit odd. They have a huge 8 burner gas range also in the kitchen. In all fairness these people do some serious entertaining. They live on their vineyard and I have been there when there were 40+ people present. What she wants it to be is a place to set out dishes etc when the cooktop isn’t needed. Paul
March 7, 20242 yr Author Yes I did. I am using it in some fashion on just about every project these days. Paul
March 8, 20242 yr I still go to their website to see what some of their people create with it. I will still get one one day…
