This is going to be my next carving project and I'll silver-gild this instead of gold-gild. I'll also have to do something with the edge molding shown here.

Just starting the carving process on this project. Here's the before-photo. I'll do the carving on the back of these pieces first, then switch to the front for the full work.

I picked up a splinter and had to glue it back on. Some light sanding and this will be ready for finishing!

Looks good so far. I assume you plan to soften or relieve the crisp edges around the eye and nose openings?

Spectacular Rick. Your artistic eye to capture in wood what I would look at and walk past is amazing. Still kinda spooky, but so creative. Looking forward to seeing the finish on this.
