Fund raiser - wounded warrior

Featured Replies

Did I miss the memo, or are we not going to have our annual Christmas fund raiser for a wounded warrior?

Tom, I am so sorry to you and all, short answer is no fundraiser. I thought the news made it out that there would not be one this year. I have one foot out the door to go to work right now, please allow me to elaborate when I return home tonight, so sorry guys!!!!

Thanks John. Take care.

John, an apology is not necessary.  You have a lot on your plate as it is.  You do a lot for this web site, and things are going to slip through the cracks on rare occasions.  Just looking for an answer, which I got, and not throwing criticism.  Thanks.

So gents, what happened to our Christmas Fundraiser?

First off, Operation Ward 57 transitioned their operations to The Honor and Courage Foundation, so Op Ward 57 is no longer an organization. And as you all know they are the ones who ran the Adopt a Wounded Warrior Family For Christmas project that we participated in every year.

Along with that transition, they stated that The Honor and Courage Foundation would continue the Christmas project but as far as I could tell, at least this year they had not.

Here is the original announcement:

So, with that being said, I apologize for my lack of communication to get the word out to you all that it would not happen this year.

I will contact the new organization and find out if they intend on doing a Christmas project next year, if not then we'll figure something else out to help those in need around our nation at Christmas time.

A couple weeks ago, I had solicited opinions from our Forum Hosts and Admins regarding the possibility of participating in projects that involve children, such as St Judes, or the Shriners, or organizations that support children of fallen heroes, children of incarcerated parents, etc.

We are working on that.

Thank you folks for your patience and understanding!

Great too see you Peter!!!

So far I have not heard of any updates for this project. They kind of dropped the ball last year, I think perhaps they didn't have enough time to plan for it after they took over Operation Ward 57's efforts.

I need to shoot them and email and ask for details Peter. Thanks for the reminder sir!

@p_toad I just dropped them a message, I should hear something back today, I'll follow up, thank you :)
