Second attempt to register here and only just now, perusing as a guest, did I learn of your support for veterans.  So even more I need to be a member. I come from an nuclear family of veterans. Mom, Dad, 2 brothers and 2 sisters (me third brother and the oldest of progeny) six of the seven are military vets. Dad-USN in WWII, Alantic and Pacific; USAF during Korea and Vietnam (Thailand) 22 years service; Mom-USAF during Korea until I came along; Me-USAF '73-'78, extended enlistment while in Okinawa, 1st bother USAF Vietnam era; 1st sister only non-military sibling; 2nd brother USAF officer Vietnam era; 2nd sister USAF Vietnam era who Operation Boostrapped herself into officerdom and did 20 years.

 

Currently working on a wood-shop in the garage, building a basic 400 watt solar charging emergency power station, and building at teardrop inspired piggy-back camper pod for my utility trailer.

I will attempt to satisfy your voyeuristic appetites. My handle is an old one attributed to me in the late 60's early 70's while rushing up and down court side shooting high school basket ball games while festooned with multiple camera bodies and lenses and flash units. Did my own darkroom work.

 

Nowadays I am  more limited having to rely on a couple of tablets and a cheap digi Kodak instead of my real film Nikon F2, Pentax KZ1000, a Rollei twin lens reflex, and a Zeiss-Ikon Voightlander range finder (maybe I need to find a vintage camera users forum). Those cameras still take superior quality photos but it is a real pain to go from them to posting online. So I'll do the best I can with the budget canvases and acid brushes that I have access to now in the digital image space.

I usually frequent the Adelaide Timmyses both north and south of the Commissioners to Southdale "greenspace" break along with the Commissioners-Highbury location. So all y'all who can make it too one of those, welcome 😀. Be forewarned though; frequenters of Dunkin' Donuts or Mr. Donut won't find the range of selection on pastries to be as "varied" here.

 

Was close to your neck of the woods once in the early seventies. Stayed at the former arch-bishop's house in South Bend to attend a game at the local college to witness the prowess of one Pistol Pete.

South Bend is a couple hours away. I've read somewhere there's a "small college" up there that occasionally plays some basketball😜

WOW!!!! 21 Timmys in London! We don't have ANY here in Haydon. Bowmanville (15 minutes down the road) only has two that I know of. And just FYI, @Grandpadave52, It's about a four-hour drive from here to London, and since I have an appointment with my eye specialist in the morning, I regret that I'll have to take a rain check. I HAVE driven through that area a number of times (usually between 7 and 8 a.m.), and stopped for breakfast at Dennys, but to the best of my recollection I have NEVER stopped at a Tim's.

    Oh, yes... almost forgot.... Welcome to TPW, @superphotog. Most of what Gramps told you is true. Well, SOME of it, anyway!

Welcome aboard superphotog .  First, thank you and your family for your years of service. Great group of guys here. Ask questions and these guys have the answers, No attitudas and no question goes unanswered.    I started here as a beginner and have learned a lot from them.  Years ago I was into a bit of photography. Started with a Konica SLR and they went out of the camera business.  Went with a Minolta SLR then they went out of the camera business. Had my own darkroom set up for a while but as years passed I gave it up and sold my equipment. Today is simply use my 25x Canon for what little I do now. My daughter enjoyed photography until recently.  On a trip to Africa she dropped her $ 2000+ Nikon body and 150-600 zoom lense, separating the lense from the body. That will be an expensive repair if it is repairable.
