August 31, 20232 yr Popular Post Thin scraps of Pine, ASh and 1/4" Plywood...and have 2 days to build it? Start with the Infamous Full Sized Drawing... . Besides a square..needed a full sized "Bottle" to lay out the spaces.. Lines are drawn to the thickness of the scraps... about 1/4" thick, or so...layout square, two of them.. Lay out and mill 2 ends out of the Ash blanks.. Use the lay out lines to lay out for some slots.. And then layout for the matching slots in the dividers.. Then decide on HOW to attach the dividers to the ends.. Finger joints at the corners...not sure what to call the half lap joint... And that was just an hour last night...have all the other notches to mill this afternoon. And..decide on a handle of some sort.. Stay tuned..
August 31, 20232 yr Author Popular Post Day 2...another hour in the shop...got a wee bit more done... Bandsaw a few more finger joints..a few more half lap slots... Dry fit one entire side... Note the lap joints on the side of the Carrier.. test fit the bottle.. Got the other side panel jointed..and fitted...then pre-set the clamps... So I can figure out how much of a PITA this is going to be,,,come glue-up time..this evening.. This just might be a Royal one....ya think...? Stay tuned...film @2300hrs...

September 5, 20232 yr Author Popular Post Update #1... Testing for height of the handle... Needed the old Monarch set out...then grind a half notch.. To help bend the steel handle... Since I do not have a torch in the shop...hammer bending...I then drilled a pair of holes into each end...I WAS going to tap those holes, but...snapped the CHEAPO tap while tapping hole #2...got a larger bit and drilled all four holes to the new size... Installed 4 bolts, to give me something to hold onto, while I brushed on a coat of Witch's Brew... Just now found 4 nuts that will fit those bolts...FINALLY! Stay tuned...there just might be a Test Drive with 6 bottles of Mountain Dew Zero...

Sorry to hear that. Such things as happen to our old legs just can't do what we used to. I would say no descending to Dungeon for a while.
