August 27, 20232 yr Just got back from a week of visiting the out-laws so I missed out on this topic. As almost everything I make gets the same treatment, take a look at my pics to see what Zinsser Bullseye sanding sealer and water-based poly do for wood. The sanding sealer seals the wood pores while 'popping' the color. Should work great on white oak. I know it does on red oak! Can't comment on a sprayer as I haven't tried to spray anything. Most of what I make is small enough that doing it by brush is all I need.
August 28, 20232 yr Author I simply diss assemble the unit then run hot water thru it and it seems to remove all the leftover bits and cleans up everything in a jiffy. Upon reuse it sprays just fine with no issues. When using the larger one with latex paint it was a lot of scrubbing and wire whisking to get everything out.
