Pyinma Catch All

8" Pyinma Catch All.  Pyinma wood comes from Southeast Asia and is also known as asian satinwood.  This blank was purchased via Cook Woods.  More particulars about the wood here.

Machines exceptionally well.  Little to no tearout, but tends to fuzz up.  Power sanded with 80 grit, then hand sanded through 400.  Finished with walnut oil as a sanding sealer, Acks, and Odies.  Noticeable quilted grain with chatoyance present on all surfaces.

Great looking bowl and that bead detail really adds to it.

Nice turning! Had never heard of that wood but it is beautiful. I agree with Gerald about the bead detail.

I like it.  The wiid has a good look too.
