April 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Wow it is quiet today. Had a lackluster sales day Saturday and published two more videos of turning club demos which I had been procrastinating to put up. If you are interested look up Magnolia Woodturners on YouTube. Guess I will do a little cleaning in shop and maybe prep some of the logs I have.
April 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Interesting weekend, had dinner with the in-laws for mother in law’s birthday, did some spring cleaning tasks around the house, and spent a considerable amount of time learning to hand cut half blind dovetails.
April 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Late start in the shop. Health Insurance co. Rep visit for yearly check up. She just left. Now, I'm just fiddling around with the scroll saw stand. Bolting the saw to it. One of these days I might actually cut something.
April 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Saturday was sports. Youngest grandson lost Soccer match 3-0. Must be 10k elementary age kids playing spring Soccer. From there North to Boilertown. Oldest grandson had his first two 12U AAU basketball games. Went 1-1. Gonna be a good team by tourney time. Great coach. Sunday numerous church activities and duties. Today already driven couple counties East to PU auction items. Wife had several wellness checks and some tests done at local hospital. We went out for lunch. Remainder of week, lawn work prep for mowing. Prep mowers. Mowing will be needed by weeks end. Beats shoveling snow. Whatever y'all are doing be safe. Edited April 10, 20233 yr by Grandpadave52
April 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Goofed off all weekend. Headed to the shop today just for the fun of it.
April 11, 20233 yr Popular Post I got my burn in today. What a beautiful day for it, hardly a cloud in the sky and a light breeze. I started with the large pile from last year that went up in about a half hour. The other two had some greener wood in them. I even got two large sections of the tall weeds burned. I lit them up wind and the flames moved slowly against the wind.
April 12, 20233 yr No open burning here today. Under an Elevated Fire Risk. Humidity in low 30's, "dry??" conditions with wind gusts expected 25+mph. Several counties North are under Red Flag Warning. Dry fence rows and corn field stubble become big tinder boxes.
April 12, 20233 yr Monday's gone. Heck, so's tuesday. Happy Hump day. Got a couple appts. today. Might get into the shop this PM. FINALLY got the scroll saw mounted on it's slanted stand. It's a quite comfortable cutting angle while seated. It was last June when we picked it up in IL. Took me long enough to get it workable, I guess. Well, it was workable setting on the bench but, not at all handy. With age comes hip, back and knee pains. At least, for me. Standing on concrete, scrolling for any length of time, would darned near kill me. Sitting in a high backed adjustable office chair will be somewhat pain free. For some reason, standing at the band saw, cutting things like intricate band saw boxes and reindeer, doesn't seem to hurt the back. Might be that the Shopsmith band saw table is nearly chest high for me.

April 14, 20233 yr I know it is a way past Monday but might forget this if I don’t post. Most of my shop time this week on these two projects. First is a router set up for use onlathe . Second is adapt my Ringmaster so can be used on my PM3520.
