Popular Post steven newman Posted April 4, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted April 4, 2023 Out and about, today...trying to find ONE Antique store that was open....in a town with 5 stores? Even the Plaza Inn was closed, today? There is a store right across the road (St Rt 31) that was open..IF you called the number on the front door...as she lives around in the back... had to sneak the package into my house, when I got home The Infamous "Plain Brown Wrapper"....$26 and change... Going to open it real slow....$10 for a single point marking gauge? But, turn it over, and there is 2 more very sharp pointy things.....Brass thumbscrews...not sure IF this is Walnut, or, Rosewood.... Unroll a little bit more.. $15.00 says the tag.....A patent date on the lever? That would be 10 - 12 of 1897.... Old logo, too... Appears to be a low angle block plane...with an adjustable mouth... A look under the hood...You just don't see wide beds like that, anymore...Thinking this MIGHT be a Stanley No. 60-1/2? Made before Stanley decided to stamp the plane number somewhere... Town is called Mount Victory,OH... lew, Gerald, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others 7 1 Quote

Popular Post steven newman Posted April 5, 2023 Author Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2023 Apparently...that be a #77 Marking gauge... Stanley liked the handle bars.... As for the No. 65? Have a #60-1/2 in the shop... It's the Runt on the right... Old vs new style... Larry Buskirk, Cal, Gerald and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Grandpadave52 Posted April 5, 2023 Report Posted April 5, 2023 Awesome scores on both counts Wasn't aware the "65" was that much wider. Enough bulk to square an edge. steven newman, Cal, HARO50 and 1 other 3 1 Quote
