Late here, but sorry for your loss.   I am not an expert in valuations of such antique tools.  But for general clean up, I use Dawn & Water.  If there is oil or wax, follow with mineral spirits.  Then if you want, you can add some wax or shellac.   Shellac will also seal in odors.  I'd not bother with the crack on the bottom, it's not doing anything.
