Popular Post forty_caliber Posted November 5, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted November 5, 2022 7 1/2 x 3 pecan crotch. Has been drying for about 6 months. Areas were hard as a rock for the 2nd turning. Had to slow down and mind my P's and Q's to keep it from tearing out. KevTN, Gerald, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 4 others 3 4 Quote

HandyDan Posted November 6, 2022 Report Posted November 6, 2022 Very nice. What do you use for the finish? Cal and lew 2 Quote

Power sanding 80 grit again after drying. Then power sanding through 320 reversing the spindle between grits. Followed by Acks sanding paste, then Acks finishing paste. Lastly Odies. Generously cover all surfaces and wait 10 minutes. Wipe away excess leaving a film. Wait 10 minutes and burnish with a clean paper towel at about 800 rpm. .40 Cal, HandyDan and lew 1 2 Quote

Gene Howe Posted November 7, 2022 Report Posted November 7, 2022 That's a beauty, .40! You have an eye for a pleasing form. Love the transition to the base. Great finish, too. Cal 1 Quote
