Today our club got involved in teaching our youth to turn. This is the second school we have gone to and demoed woodturning. We go thru safety and tool use then do a short demo. Today was my turn to do the demo. We have given tools to the first school and probably a lathe to this school.

 

 

 

neither school has lathe stands and plan to build or buy one. We may get really busy at this.

This is great! How did your club get this started?

I'm impressed that you got them to pay attention.  Looks like they are eating it up.  Planting a seed is all it takes sometimes.

One of the teachers saw us turning at the Ag Museum and called me after they had ordered a lathe. The second teacher talked to the first and then she contacted me. Plus now possible the woodworkers club will also be teaching done skills.
