This will be my largest turning so far. It measures around 18” by 3.5”. After I got it round and straight it is 16” by 2”. Thinking of making a chip and dip bowl. My lathe handled it very well.

I'd like to see some pictures as you are turning it.  Would like to see as a step by step so we can see the changes on the grain as you go deeper into the bowl.  I have never done what you are about to do.

A friend of mine got a few trailer loads of firewood. The trees were down and he was able to cut them to length himself. This was a crotch piece he cut in half for us while I was helping him split wood. He also has some 36” diameter walnut logs we are going to process to get some pith free walnut for vases and hollow forms.

Well I looked and tried to see something and finally when seeing the bottom. It is wings , those large type that drape down to the ground. Nice

Very nice.  The flame in that piece is magnificent.
