October 25, 20223 yr I have been using the purple sanding discs from Woodturners Wonders and was wondering what you all use. The purple discs sand great when new but don’t last very long. Wondering what your favorites are. I’m willing to try something new.
October 25, 20223 yr I like the products from woodturners wonders, they are as good as any I've found. How are you using the disks? I find that any disk will wear out quickly when using a pad with a drill motor but last much longer when using a random orbit sander. By the same token, a drill motor is much more aggressive and will remove tool marks quicker.
October 25, 20223 yr I use Mirka Gold from Steve Worster at Turning Wood. Are you using a backing pad? they extend the life of the hook and loop and I think extend life of the paper. Add to that interface pads in varying densitys to reduce the aggresiveness of higher grit pads. Turning Wood
October 25, 20223 yr I use "daisy" disks from sandpaper.ca. The scalloped edge folds over the sanding pad and gets in corners better than a round disk. .40
