Turned outboard due to diameter.

Finished out the smaller of the two khaya blanks as a raised platter.  Can't wait to see it on the table with a cake or a pie resting on top.

There is quite a lot of chatoyance present in the finished piece and still photos don't do it justice.  Very short chatoyance clips... one two.

Very nice pieces . Never thought of video to show chatoyance .

Very nice work!

Superb work!

Wonderful and the wood is gorgeous too.

Very nice. I just turned mahogany for the first time and it was wonderful to turn.

Here is the Chip and Dip bowl made from the largest blank about 14 1/2" diameter.  I'm testing a new photography format.  Please let me know what you think of my "studio" shots.  Taken with a Pentax KS-2 300mm macro lens and low power flash.  This change was in response to a nasty gram from AAW about the quality of photos on that site and the difficulties judging them.

Look like she will be happy with that one. Photos look good but. Think a lighter background is better. Plus cloth not the best due to distracting wrinkles. I use a gradient background from gray to white.

My "studio" is in my re-loading closet.  There are projectiles, powder cans, and related tools hiding behind that fabric.  I'll shop around for a different kind fabric but am most likely stuck with wrinkles for now.
