Looking to upgrade

Featured Replies

My shop currently uses Pattern Systems for our cut lists, optimizing, labeling and cnc . Since they went out of business we no longer can upgrade and it's frustrating

using such an old program. We are looking into a new cnc and with that a new program that can do the same as pattern systems. Looking for something similar. Any one

have suggestions?

You need to check out Woodweb…

My experience with CNCs doesn't include production runs for cabinet parts/cut lists, etc. In an education shop every job for students is unique and relies on the students to submit digital layouts of what they what cut from their board(s).   The exceptions are when my students need a solution for something their experience can't help them figure out or even imagine yet.  In those cases they sit beside me at a PC while I draw up what I think they need as they watch and provide answers for any questions I have about their material.

The software I use though does have tiling and nesting and layers that can help arrange part outlines on a panel or panels. Vectric.com sells VCarve Pro with these features.   I only rarely have used those options so I don't know their complete feature list/capabilities.  I'd be surprised if they don't include a post processer  for your existing CNC.
