August 24, 20223 yr Popular Post dang i sure love hitting up garage sales, here in Az, older stuff is sure hard to come by unless you go to the retirement areas, and one may find a gem or two. The big cheese here has now banned me from buying any more of '' i gotta have just cause'' tools, and has me on a '' only the ones you need'' or we start selling some so we can store them, i get her drift, but hey, can't a fella have one ''vice'' rj in az

August 25, 20223 yr Author Yeah...like I really need another Disston D-23... $2? Might rehab it, and see what it can be... Handle seems to be in great shape....

August 25, 20223 yr Popular Post Where do you find these sales? Bet that old iron holds a better edge and holds it longer than any newer mass-production planes. My 14" jack plane, with plastic depth adj. knob, is woefully shy about taking a shaving-quality edge. And I really want a No. 7 or No. 8 (22" / 24" ?). Got three vintage Disston hand saws coming into my possession in a few months. Will have to hunt up a woodworkers tool swap in the PHX area.
August 26, 20223 yr Wow!!! There is a serious lack of garage sales like that out this way. I am jealous of the things you guys find.
