Greetings All:  I have a MontgomeryWard PowerKraft 1” belt sander Model THS 2761 and would like to find a copy of the Owner’s manual.

I found the belts for this machine but I am not positive I have installed correctly as one of the rollers done not contact the belt.  I am thinking this machine is designed to accommodate different size belts..

Thanks for the info. Interesting information on these sites.  However nothing matches.  Did find out the Toolcraft Co made this sander.  

Maybe @Larry Buskirk will be around soon. He is our resident expert on old power machines.

I will post a photo of the sander (as soon as I get it cleaned up and back together) so all can see what i am dealing with.  Highpockets

Please do, we might be able to match it up under another brand name. ToolKraft was originally Dara-James Corp., and they provided tools to a few companies that rebranded them under their tool line names.

Here are some photos of this sander. One is without the belt installed.  You can see when belt is installed the one guide roller is just floating.

I’m not sure but that almost looks like a tension pulley/roller 

Looks a whole lot like this Craftsman here.

Yep, There's also a Delta version, but they used plastic wheels on it. Belsaw also made a very similar unit.

Thanks everybody! I think  I have this figured out thanks to Grandapadave. The Craftsman manual is s perfect fit for this sander. The upper idler wheel is not used when the platen is in place.  Once removed ( the platen ) the wheel picks up the slack in the belt.  Highpockets

Well once in a while a "blind, old squirrel" stumbles over a nut. I honestly thought I remembered a similar one made/sold by Dayton but couldn't find a good picture of it. That search led me to stumble onto the Craftsman model. Once I found the model, the rest was easy thanks to Mr. GOOGLE. It wasn't too long ago, someone had the Craftsman model For Sale on a local CL posting. IIRC $75. Yours is much nicer than it was assuming you have the table.

Yes that sounds right now that you say that. Probably came off the same line as the others and just re-branded?
