October 20, 20232 yr Tool box? The only outdoor job I had was to help put together a 2 car garage for my father-in-law. Motivated because once done I was allowed to temporarily store a house full of belongs while I went to graduate school. The tools needed were a Skil saw, tape measure, 4' level, electric hand drill, good hammer, and a combination square. All fit nicely in the rear (not the bed) of my Nissan Hardbody truck. Never needed an actual tool box as I could park right next to the garage being built. For that matter, I've never actually needed a tool box since. 4D

I had a well-tuned kit and I learned that if you think you need a screwdriver, take in the whole kit. Trips back to the van (or even worse to the hardware store) were costly in terms of time spent. Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared. And I do yearly or so mission trips where we never know what jobs we'll get. Edited October 20, 20232 yr by kmealy
