Popular Post Ron Altier Posted July 21, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted July 21, 2022 I got an idea about putting my wife’s favorite dog breed on wood. Schnauzers i drew one on a piece of planed cedar fencing. I used internet pictures as a guide. Then went over it with different size markers. It went OK, I’m not thrilled at the results. However she likes it. If I ever try something like this again, I’ll know what not to do. It is above 9 x7 and will be a wall hanger Artie, KevTN, HARO50 and 9 others 12 Quote

We understand and can help. Here's the cure for your dilemma: Take more cedar stock and lay it out in the sun for a month. While it is baking, take mamma's favorite dog-on-wood sketch and scan it at 600dpi. Buy one of those new-fangled carving CNC machines. Bring some stock into the house, select a nice one-foot piece, strap it to the machine. Convert the 600dpi scan into black-and-naught. Feed the data into the CNC carver. Have it carve away all of the "naught", leaving your sketched lines proud. Tint the carved areas as desired. Once you like the results, run the machine 24/7, make a hundred, and hit the craft shows. You'll make millions. John Morris, Gene Howe, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others 1 7 Quote
