Good sale on Ridgid drill/driver set

Featured Replies

I have this set for a couple years and we have about 8 of them at the furniture bank.  This is a great price and don't forget to file registration for the lifetime service agreement (that also covers batteries)

I have converted to only having drills and drivers in battery powered tools, and for the ones I get anymore they will be Rigid. I have a Rigid impact driver and really like it, but the real reason is that LSA for the batteries. That is a good deal. Thanks.

Yes, I went thru two Makita and one Metabo drill sets that had NiCad batteries.   Did a Batteries+ rebuild on them once because replacement batteries were the cost of a new tool set.  Things changed a lot when Li-Ion became the technology.  I bought a Ridgid 12v for my onsite work. So I got the Ridgid solely because of the LSA.  I went thru two sets of batteries in the first two years, so must have been some design flaw.  The place that replaced it said they were doing about 30 battery replacements a day.  The third set has been going fine for over 10 years and it sits in the car in hot and cold weather.   I got a used 12v drill recently so now I have two 12v, and the 18v set.  I do sort of regret buying the corded Makita impact driver (one of the few made) back in the NiCad days.   I figured if I ever needed to build a deck or something the cordless ones wouldn't do.

If you do buy the Ridgid tools be sure to register within 90 days and if you get replacements, re-register to keep the LSA active.
