May 15, 20224 yr Popular Post I was able to complete a project this past week. I have a need for a Moxon vise. I do not have an adequate woodworker’s bench for handwork, but I have a nice assembly table which this vise will easily mounted to. My version allows me to use dovetail clamps and the vise at the same time. I hope this will aid me in making my dovetails and clean-up on my tenons. Each clamp has the capability to apply 695 lbs. More than what will be needed. Major structure is 1-1/2” hard maple and cherry assembled with GRK trim screws. I used lumber left over from past projects. The jaw is lined with a cork material to help protect my project piece. Capacity is ~ 19” between inner screws. Hardware was purchased from Taylor Toolworks. Thanks for looking and be safe. Danl
May 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Nice! I got a couple of those MatchFit clamps a year or so ago and keep finding clever uses for them.
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Beautiful piece of work. I have always wondered with a moxon does the height that it raises the workpiece cause undue stress to the worker?

I believe the intent is to build the vise so that it is at a comfortable height. I wanted a height that I could stand and sit, on my shop stool, while using it. Time will tell. Danl
