May 15, 20224 yr Author The rule of yielding for boats and aircraft is to yield to a craft coming from your right, so it may be so you have unobstructed view of traffic to your right. POSH = port out, starboard home. but said to be a myth Port = 4 letters = left. Port wine is red, so the light on that side is red, telling someone on that side to yield.
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Port and starboard reminds me of wine and super glue. I think the heat's getting to me. It's gonna be a long, strange summer. Weirdness is seasonal, ya know.

Many, many, years ago the WW club did a tour of a local shop that restored Chris Craft boats. I was still very much a newbie to woodworking. Most of the guys were ex-patternmakers (you know, guys that make things out of wood within thousandths. nothing is square, you have to account for two halves that you can get the pattern out of each, and account for shrinkage from molten to cool based on the the metal to be cast.) One thing that impressed me was about the only stationary power tool was a junky Craftsman table saw (if that is not redundant). Maybe a band saw somewhere. Lends credence to the expression, "A boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money." Take that, BMW drivers!
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post After my turning adventure with Ipe, I wound up with a very solid mallet and an abiding dislike for that species of wood. If I had a choice, I don’t care if it is the best thing ever for outdoor use, I am going to use anything else.
