    There is a discussion of the rings (not Easy Wood) on AAW forum and consensus is not a desired process and faceplate better.

    I have found them to be more convenient and actually easier to use than the thread on faceplates. Mainly because I don't have to remove the chuck to mount the turning blank. Centering is just as easy as a thread on faceplate. Haven't had any problems with runout, vibration or slippage.

     

    I'll need to read the discussion to see what I am missing.
