This one is pecan left over from offering plates two years ago. Finish is Mahoney's Walnut Oil. it is 14.5 inch diameter.

Now this Live Oak has a story. The blank is from close to the pith to get a near straight grain. Turned green and when drying I placed cauls on it to keep it flat. The first one I did from this same tree turned into a taco and the cauls would not quite get it back flat. Finist is seven layers of 100% Tung Oil. This one is 16 inches. Both turned by expansion mode which is still visible on the pecan.

Both are gorgeous! I personally like the second one, especially the top ring details at the outer edge and where the "bowl" starts.

Color and grain in the first one grab my vote.  Both are very nice.

Beautiful grain in those and really nice turning. The second one looks like it has some influence from Glenn Lucas.

Those are beautiful Gerald!
