February 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Had a call last week from someone wanting a finial turned for bedpost. He lost the original when he moved and was in the doghouse. Turns out to be a simple job. No finish as he paints artistically. Used beech and we played with oil stains I had but grain showed heavy. This is a pic of after he did his magic. Can you tell which one is mine??

February 9, 20224 yr Popular Post The certainly are dead nuts look a likes, but I'd guess the right one is the one you turned.
February 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Right one, no nicks and the finish is cleaner. Very hard to tell difference. You matched them very well including the finish. I would bet money he is now out of trouble. Edited February 9, 20224 yr by HandyDan

February 11, 20224 yr Yours looks more symmetrical. I figured it was a trick question. Plus one dowel looked more fresh.
