February 9, 20223 yr Popular Post If you get a chance to catch this episode, I think you'll find it interesting. The History Channel has some good stuff (along with the crap) and their series of "The (insert word) That Built America"...the inserted word could be cars, food, or in this case machines. Anyway, episode 6 of the Machines series was titled "Power Tool Showdown" and gives the starting history of B&D, Milwaukee, and Dewalt...and the competition amongst them when they were formed. The only thing that puzzled me was the absence of Rockwell/Delta through the story, but it was still an interesting show. If you get a chance to see it (it's on-demand if you have that convenience) it follows the start of B&D with the electric drill, how Milwaukee improved it with backing from Henry Ford, and how Raymond Dewalt came to invent the RAS. Past that it talked about the new tools they all introduced and the success they enjoyed.
February 9, 20223 yr Author Popular Post It showed up here, you see it on the list. But when I tried to run it I got a message to "sign up with my provider". It had an initial air date of 8/15/2021, so that is relatively new. Edited February 9, 20223 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr

At the time, picked it off HC website and watched it on my tablet. @Fred W. Hargis Jr is spot on; very interesting segment. Definitely worth the watch if you can access.

IIRC, the full episode was about 48 minutes. I had the active link saved, but when I try to use it, it points to the same place Fred located.

February 10, 20223 yr Popular Post This is what I got when I tried the link Guess I won't be watching it any time soon as I cut the cord and do not have a "cable" tv THC is about the only channel that I did miss when we switched services. Maybe one day The History Channel might come into the 21st century There's probably a joke in there somewhere...
