I recently inherited this this old console tv that my Grandpa turned in a cabinet years ago. Thought I’d share because it’s a good idea.

Cool idea but where in the world would one find one of those antique TVs now? Besides that now that I think most od the "wood" on what we had was plastic.

Now putting glass shelves and lights would really wow it.

Surprisingly I still see them often in Estate Auctions and occasionally in yard sales or flea markets.

My brother still watches his everyday.  He was given a flat screen but he won't use it until his old one gives out.

Hey, it still works off the antenna.  :OldManSmiley:

When we lived up on the remote mesa, we were limited to either satellite TV or WIFI. I think Dish and DirecTV invented inflation, so  after numerous rate increases we went total WIFI. Since moving down here, a little $10 indoor antenna on each TV, brings in all the local channels as, well. We'd forgotten how much we enjoyed commercials  and, the inanity of the news readers and, the weather girls. Luckily, the mute button still works.

I got rid of one of those about a year ago, at the same time I turned our old TV cabinet into firewood. The cabinet had served as an aquarium stand for about 45 years. All wood, no plastic! We got it when we got married, 49 years ago.

If anyone has need, I still have 2 or 3 of them. Yours free just pay S&H. Also have 2 or 3 of the analog to digital converters. Same deal as rabbit ears.

Sorry but the last analog TV's went to the electronics recycle center last summer. Ooops, wait, I still have one I bid $1 for at on-line auction. Terrible auction; nobody would bid against me. It also came with converter, antenna, some Dish remotes & mobile TV stand (Sauder I think?). It has a build in DVD (non Blue-Ray) player. You'll have to deal with the grandsons for that one. It's hooked up to their retro video games.:P
