Jessem Clear-Cut Table Saw Guides

So me Missus got me the Jessem Clear-Cut Table Saw Guides for a Christmas Present. (I mighta hinted a wee bit :) ) I saw a post on the SS Forums about these, and various users different ways of attaching them to the SS fence. Paul (Mr masonsailor) had a post on it. The JCCTSG comes with a track that gets mounted to the top of the fence, and then the 2 guides mount to the track. One of the SS posters showed pictures of just mounting the two guides to one of the tracks that is on the SS fence, using SS T-nuts. This seemed elegantly simple and effective to me. I have had a kickback occur once and would like to make that the only time I experience one. When I get the guides installed, I shall take some pictures and post them. (Because I know our unwritten mantra “no pictures, it didn’t happen” LOL

Thanx for posting this, Artie. Will have to look into these for my machine.

My wallet only allows for finger boards. One on the fence and, another on the table, effectively eliminates kick back. Sometimes a hassle when ripping a run of varied widths, though.

So the Guide blocks have 4 holes on the corners, read the instructions, can’t see what there for. (Alarms are going off in a control room, somewhere) So they are roughly 1/8 of an inch outboard of the 1/4-20 holes on the tee-nuts, when installed in the top fence tracks. So I drilled out the holes on the guide blocks to 5/16. Using the 1/4-20 hex head bolts, and brass washers, I got at our local hardware store, the guide blocks mount directly to the top of the fence, with no wiggle room. I only have one mounted because I only had 4 tee-nuts. The other 4 have been shipped from the Mothership. Hopefully my narrative, and the photos make sense. The picture of the black track is the track included with the guides. It’s supposed to be mounted to the top of the fence, and the guides mount (easily) to that :) .

Looks good, Artie.  Also looks like this will fit my older 510 with the single t-slot fence.  Hopefully they will just sell guide blocks/hold downs without all the extra rail and mounting system I wouldn't need.

Do you have to loosen the 5/16ths bolts to adjust this or do you use the silver knurled knobs? Or use both?

I would use both, but the 4 black hex head bolts are more than sufficient. No play, and also looks to be dead on straight. I’m liking this so far, but have yet to actually cut with them.

Still haven’t cut with them, but here is the finished installation.

You’re going to love them Artie. I’ve had mine for about 5 years and use them daily. They are so much better than feather boards. You will find that just using just the rear one for narrow stock works well. The forward one gets in the way of the push stick. On wider stock ( >3”) using both is great. Another thing I had to learn by trial and error is that you don’t need them to exert that much pressure to work effectively. If you crank them down too far it takes too much effort to push the wood through.
