So I did a thing…

So I stumbled across a deal that was too good to pass up.  I found a Mark V - 510 with a bandsaw, Belt Sander, Jointer, and a whole bunch of extra stuff.  Chucks, Turning Chisels, dust collector hookups, sanding discs, blades, sand paper, even an apron and windbreaker.  Lots of parts / pieces, extra support tables, 2 fences, manuals, instructional videos…the list goes on.  This will probably spend most of its time as a drill press or lathe which are the two big things I didn’t have before. but the belt sander has some potential.

Apparently there is also a mortiser kit that the guy has but couldn’t find.  If he does he will let me know.

SWEET score. It looks almost new. Appears quite at home in that new shop.

Plenty of resources on this site to help answer questions, give tips etc.

It is VERY lightly used.  Apparently the guy got it, built a picture frame, a shadow box, and a couple of pens.  Decided it wasn’t for him and put it in storage

Very nice score!  Good find.

Good on ya @Static_LV

I wouldn't worry about the missing mortiser attachment. IMO, the table, in the drill press configuration, isn't robust enough for mortising operations without some serious auxiliary bracing.

And what a wonderful thing it is Static! Nice find. I love mine in drill press mode. I used it a little as lathe, I really liked the height the turning was at. It felt more natural turning at waist level instead of sternum level like the standard lathes are.

I am honestly not much of a turner but at least now I have the option to make huge messes out of spinning wood with a sharpened stick :)

It's great to be able to create something from rough stock to finished product without ever having to switch machines!
