November 21, 20214 yr Popular Post Now that I have a heater for my Mothers shop time to make braces to hold it up. My Mother worries about things being strong enough to hold this mere 20 lb heater. So OVER engineering is the order of the day. First item is a bracket for the 30 amp drier outlet. This should hold well. Took back apart and off to finishing room. Mother likes this aluminum colored paint by Rustoleum. Meh, but hey doesn't matter. Next I cut a deep groove in a 2x4 face and then glued a second beam on the top. This is all primed. One end will attached to two rafters that cross the shop about 8 inches apart. Believe this is called Pole Barn construction. That will hold on pretty good but as Mother wants extra strong I need a way to attach a steel angle beam from ceiling rafters. So I took a Toyota head bolt and welded two small bolts to it. This will keep it from turning inside the brace once assembled. Next I had to drill the hole and route out for the two side studs. So fits like so. I filled hole with some epoxy will let dry overnight. Dry fitted the end cap.
November 21, 20214 yr Popular Post Good job. Waiting to see it actually mounted. Also hoping Mother will approve.

December 9, 20214 yr Author Popular Post Installed Bracket. Mother was very happy to have heat in shop. And of course the power had to be run for it. All nice and tidy. @Artie will inspect and tell me if improvements need to be made.
December 9, 20214 yr Well done Gunny! I'm sure your mother is thankful for all your efforts and help.
December 9, 20214 yr Is there a disconnecting means? Breaker or fuse with-in eyesight? Switch? Cord cap and receptacle, within reach without need for a ladder? Just spitballing here.

Cord cap is a fancy name for the male end on a cord, plugs into the receptacle. This is an allowed means of disconnect. If breaker is in eyesight of the heater all is well!
