October 24, 20214 yr Popular Post Great job. I noticed that the handles are for handicap folks. Great idea as we age.
October 24, 20214 yr The first time I ever saw any handles like that was serving Uncle in 1958 in Germany at Warner Kasern, I don't remember the spelling, Munich had this type of handle as did every door I went through while over there...and for sure I don't think Hitler would have referred to that type of handle as for the handicap. I thought is was such a good idea all my door handles since then have been changed over to that type... The one thing I didn't like while filling in my short timers calendar over there was their sinks were way too low on the wall and the faucets were about 3 foot above the sinks. No matter how hard you tried you still got wet from top to bottom. Edited October 24, 20214 yr by Smallpatch
October 24, 20214 yr When we moved in there was one interior door with a lever handle. The rest are knobs. When we installed French doors to the patio, we put a lever on the opening door. Recently, we had to replace the front entry door knob handle and dead bolt with a lever set. Eventually, I'd like to replace all the interior handles with levers. Maybe by next October. Phyl likes the levers because she doesn't have to put what ever she's carrying down to open a door.
October 24, 20214 yr If you ever have anyone around that has rheumatoid arthritis, those handles are needed. Marie has trouble gripping a knob tightly enough to open the door. I had to replace all the lock sets at our last house as well as this one to get the levers.
