October 16, 20214 yr Popular Post Twice turned pecan bowl. About 3/16" thick and very light in the hand. Not sure what's going on with individual piece of wood but it turned differently than other pieces from the same tree. Tough, stringy, and hard to cut. Tear out if you look at it sideways. Finished with Acks. .40 Edited October 16, 20214 yr by forty_caliber
October 16, 20214 yr Awesome! Wonderful grain patterns in this piece! Did you use your vacuum chuck to finish the bottom?
October 16, 20214 yr Author Yes. I used the vChuck. I really like the way it works...quick and easy. Haven't touched LW or Cole since. .40
October 16, 20214 yr Yes that is some nice grain in this one. Once you use a vacuum you will not go back.
October 17, 20214 yr Might've been a tough one but it sure looks like it was worth it. Agree with Gerald about using a vacuum chuck. One of the best accessories a bowl turner can I think.
October 17, 20214 yr Some really nice work! Someday, maybe........well, maybe not; i might be kidding myself. You are quite the turner! Edited October 17, 20214 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
October 27, 20214 yr With all the trials and tests of your patience and skills, you endured and produced a beautiful product of which you can be proud. Looks fantastic.
