August 30, 20214 yr Popular Post Maybe not the place for this but here goes. Just got this email from Woodcraft on a new clamp. I find the idea amazing but wonder what the clamp pressure is, have not researched yet Quick Twist Bar Clamp Edited August 30, 20214 yr by Gerald

The turning handle adjustment doesn't have a lot of travel - maybe 1 to 1.5"- but the entire mechanism slides on the bar easily. I have noticed the the red slide release button (top of picture above the "GK30") kinda jambs when I really crank on the pressure. A quick tap with a mallet releases it.
September 3, 20214 yr Has anyone tried the Ehoma clamps offered by Woodcraft and Highland Woodworking? The feature that caught my eye is that according to the Highland ad, the handle can pivot 90 degrees to provide more clamping pressure. The Woodcraft ad on the same clamp doesn't mention that feature. The Highland ad also says that the clamp can provide up to 1500 lbs of clamping pressure, and if that isn't enough, check your joinery. I hadn't heard of the brand until I was looking at the Highland Woodworking website, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. Highland mentioned plastic handles, so I wonder how long they will hold up.

Bessey's version is about half the price although it doesn't have that handle feature.

Lew, as far as the Bessey clamp is concerned, I think you and I are looking at two different clamps. Comparing the Ehoma and Bessey 24" parallel clamp on Woodcraft's website, the Bessey clamp is actually $4 more. The F style clamp is cheaper, but I was looking at parallel clamps.

October 6, 20214 yr I know that this thread has mostly expired, but I have one comment. I have a set of loppers that I purchased from Lowe's. They extend in handle length when you rotate a small portion of the handle. You use that same knob just like the top clamp to tighten it either in extension or normal modes. But, if you have it locked, you can give a good tug and the handle will extend. The handle lock slips and allows the handle to extend. I purchased them last spring and I won't make the same mistake. Just to clarify, the locking mechanism appears to be the same as the clamp.
