July 17, 20215 yr comment_268462 The rub that comes up at times is with the shellac not being dewaxed. Polyurethane finishes don't always adhere to it very good.....and sometimes they do. But if it's dewaxed (Sealcoat label) there's no problem at all. If it's not dewaxed, there may or may not be a problem. But as mentioned above, a lot of folks have done this without a hiccup. July 18, 20215 yr Author comment_268471 Doing a Test Run, tonight....underside of the lid has a coat of clear gloss poly....waiting until the morning to see how that turns out...before a new brush and do the outsides.... Report
